Learn more about Spotted Lanternfly, Beach Leaf Disease and Life after Phragmites

As a partner with Saginaw Bay Cooperative Invasive Species Management Areas we have been invited to attend their partner meetings. It is an opportunity to network, learn, and participate!

The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 25 at 10:00 am at the Hampton Township Hall. They will be bringing several new outreach materials to distribute such as brochures, posters, and info-guides for spotted lanternfly, beech-leaf disease, life after phragmites, and more. All these are available to any partner who needs them and wants to distribute them to their communities. A special guest speaker, Rebecca Brandt, of Bay County Mosquito Control, will be talking about the relationship between invasive phragmites and mosquitos, and how this impacts control of mosquitoes in Bay County. Following the lunch and presentation, there will be a field trip to Finn Road Park in Hampton Township at 1:00 pm. This site was in the first phase of the phragmites treatment by Saginaw Bay CISMA in 2021 and gives a great example of post-phragmites shoreline.
