At the October quarterly meeting of the State Council of Trout Unlimited, Laurie Seibert was recognized for all her tireless hard work towards promoting diversity among our membership by receiving the Art Neumann Achievement Award. The following is a brief summary of her efforts. Women in Waders is a widely acclaimed program for bringing women into the fly fishing community. As a river guide for Casting for Recovery, Laurie has helped cancer survivors build a positive outlook. Michigan Trout Unlimited Trout and Conservation , where Laurie has served as registrar and counselor, brings young fisherfolk to the rivers edge through fly fishing. In addition, Laurie just completed her fourth and final year as president of the Mershon-Neumann Heritage Chapter.
All of these programs are infinitely better because of Laurie's unfailing positive presence. She gains great satisfaction through helping others. Since diversity in membership increases the stability of our organization, we have all benefitted from her efforts. Congratulations Laurie! Keep up the good work .
